Big bottles and beer-can boats: the Territory does its drinking a little differently. In 1958 Carlton & United launched the Darwin Stubby, a bottle of about 2.25 litres, partly to make shipping bottled beer up from Melbourne worthwhile; regular brewing of its NT Draught stopped in 2015. Darwin's Beer Can Regatta, first held in 1974, races boats built from empties. Down the track, the Daly Waters pub was licensed in 1938 to look after air passengers and crews. Order a handle for 285 ml.
