Situated 43km north of Cloncurry the Albert Hotel,aka The Quamby Pub was built as the Customs House in the 1860s.
With the aboriginal meaning of Quamby being, 'stop, rest a while',it is a great oppurtunity to see what remains of what was once a prosperous mining and cattle fattening district.
