Railway Hotel, RAVENSWOOD, QLD

Filled with family running it, the food is great and beer ice cold straight off ice when served.

The beautiful girls behind the bar engaged in conversation and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome a credit to the owners whom train them

Charlie is a great asset more like a tour guide than a publican giving us his run down of the history of the town and the mine

Not sure about the curtains upstairs but what a great effort to run and maintain a beautiful heritage building in tough times for our country pubs to many of them are shutting down and to make negative comment online is a dog act

I recommend the place and encourage people from townsville to go out experience both pubs have a feed a beer and go home what a great day trip

All I can say about this so called hotel is WHAT A DUMP. They charge you $80.00 for a room that consists of a bed. they say a double bed I would say more like a King size single. 1 sorry looking chester drawers, 1 dodgy looking wardrobe. The curtains were thread bare and very thin, I could only describe as rags at the door/window. the balcony had 2 old chairs and well that was it. No idea where the bathroom was. We stayed for no longer than 4 minutes and went straight back down stairs handed the key back and asked for our money. thank goodness we were locals from Townsville so travelled back home that day. If this place is meant to haunted I should image the ghosts would have packed their bags and moved out a long time ago.
