Welcome to the Newnorthern, formerly the Northern – a newly refurbished boutique hotel, café wine bar, function centre and drive through bakery situated in Castlemaine.

This is Castlemaine’s largest facility for functions and private events of all sorts. Well equipped and beautifully furnished, the New is soon to become the pre-eminent venue in central Victoria for anyone seeking a truly unique experience.

We recently launched a stunning new tapas-style menu for the wine bar, full of delicious dishes to be shared and enjoyed over a bottle or two. Pop in on a Friday or Saturday from 4 till 10 p.m. And if you’re planning any functions over the coming months and Christmas period, we have a range of food and drinks packages.

love the New Newnorthern

We stayed at the recently renovated Newnorthern. What a find. An eclectic mix of old and new, art, furniture and stunningly fitted out rooms. Dinner was superb. a small, but enticing menu, full of in season, locally sourced dishes. Staff were friendly but not overbearing.
